CUSTOM CLUB FITTING
If you’ve ever considered getting fitted for golf clubs, let the professionals at Mat Blair’s Golf Studio guide you in the right direction.
To fit you for clubs, we’ll first get to know more about you as a golfer. We’ll ask about your playing ability, typical ball flight, where you tend to miss most often and learn about your goals. Then we’ll take both static and dynamic measurements of your golf swing to determine what would best suit your game. We’ll likely ask you to hit a few shots and try a few irons with different lofts and lies to help us land on the exact solution. Our club-fitters incorporate head design, loft, lie angle, shaft flex, length and grips to recommend the perfect customized product for you.
When To Be Fitted For Golf Clubs
Before getting fitted for custom clubs, you first need to make sure you can consistently repeat your swing. If you can’t repeat your swing, more instruction or coaching should be your first priority. Learn more about our lessons here.
If you are a candidate for custom fitting (meaning you pop up your shots or your ball typically follows the same flight pattern), let’s get started!

How Club - Fitting Can Improve Your Game

The fitting process will reveal where you regularly strike the ball — too close to the heel or toe of the club — or identify if your clubs are too long or short for you. Then, having your clubs adjusted for you will allow your natural swing to regularly strike the ball on the sweet spot. You’ll immediately see that playing with the right clubs for you will have a marked impact on your scoring ability.
Tips For Getting Fit For Clubs
1
Make sure you’ve had time to stretch and warm up before your fitting. Don’t rush this process.
2
Pay attention to your hits. If your scheduled fitting lands on a fluke or off day for you, reschedule. We want to fit you for your typical play style.
3
Keep an open mind. You may prefer a particular head style, brand, or feel, but our trained club-fitters make recommendations based on our screening, measurements and expertise.
4
Don’t forget to get fitted for a putter. This is the club you’ll use more than any other, but it’s the club golfers have fitted least often.
5
Golf ball fitting is available. This can help narrow your choices based on your swing speed, ball flight and spin rate.
6
Lastly, remember that you’re not obligated to buy any clubs. The results of the fitting are yours to keep!
